Rain. ♥

A sleepy silence clouds over Winnipeg as the rain softly drips on the roof as it trails on the windowpane. April showers are lovely. It smell of life; of waking up from the cold winter. But that was yesterday, tomorrow brings promises of blue sky and longs walks by the lake.

Windmills.

Windmills

Taken on a cold winter day, three years ago. Pilgrimage to Dunrae, Manitoba; windmills with the sun setting down.

Hello.

With less than a week to kill before my Summer Classes start, please expect some minor changes and edits to take place in this blog.

Flowers that my Mother brought home from the grocery today. The flowers are a little droopy though.

The Shutter Sisters' Guide to Shooting from the Heart.

I was in the bookstore and found this book called Expressive Photography: The Shutter Sisters' Guide to Shooting from the Heart. It feels like I found a real gem.

It doesn't talk about technical stuffs like spot-metering and f-stops. Instead it talks about how precious taking photographs are: why it feels so magical.

Here are some excerpts and shots from the book that I love.

Daisy by Tracey
One of my photographer friends once introduced me to Sally Mann's work and her basic notions of photography: "Shoot what you know," and "you can find great images right in your own backyard." It's easy to forget that simple, truthful beauty emerges from ordinary things and can be found in every little corner of our homes and everyday lives. Tracey's kitchen windowsill offers views like this each morning. When we seek out the subjects that slow us down and give us perspective, what we see then become imbued with a sense of quality and beauty.

Favourites.

Walk to the park...

Taking a break from studying with McDonald's Mini Mc Cafe that they were handing out as samples.

Taken with my phone's camera.

Daily Rambles.

Pictures taken with my phone.

Daily musings and rambles at the University. There were three kids wearing the same winter jackets and rain boots. Adorable. My guess is that they're triplets.
